Pipelines / Flowlines / Risers Team Leader

Functionally, this position provides pipeline, flowline, and riser engineering expertise to project teams for execution of projects and leads or reviews a wide range of technical analyses and designs; serves as functional supervisor for more junior pipeline, flowline, and riser engineers, and builds solid relationships with existing and potential business partners in order to grow their team and bring related work into the company.  Operationally this position serves as project manager or discipline lead engineer on studies or projects; pipeline and flowline installation analyses (initiation, S-lay, J-lay, reel-lay, abandonment, etc.) , in-place analysis (operating, on-bottom stability, lateral/longitudinal stability); riser installation and in-place analysis, global response; pipeline, flowline, and riser preliminary and detailed design and material selection; pipeline and flowline routing and commissioning.  This position supervises PL/FL/Riser engineers; levels work load within the team and recommends staffing changes based on forecasted/ actual work load; takes initiative to document and implement technical calculations and work processes; ensures team compliance with internal QA/QC procedures; “owns” the PL/FL/Riser Team and considers this team as a stand-alone “profit center”; participates in client presentations.  Ability to use Offpipe and AGA software is essential; ANSYS and Orcaflex software ability is desired.  A bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred) and PE registration in Texas is required; 10+ years experience working for consulting engineers, oil and gas exploration/production companies, or installation contractors; deepwater floating facilities experience preferred; SCR and flexible riser experience preferred; Brownfield upgrade experience preferred.  Position may require domestic and/or international travel.  This position reports to the Vice President, Subsea Facilities Engineering.
