Account Director / Vice President

Our client is a strategic communications consulting firm focused is Health care/Biotech/Life Sciences. We are seeking an experienced Account Director/Vice President. The successful candidate must have a strong background in pharmaceutical/medical device public relations, and the ability to serve as a primary client contact for 1-2 large accounts. Candidates with agency or in-house pharmaceutical/medical device experience are preferred.  This position may be based out of their Boston or NJ office.

In addition to serving as a primary client contact, the candidate will have the opportunity to participate in new business efforts, help develop new client service offerings and provide support for our existing clients in multiple disease and therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day activities for 1-2 large client accounts


• Provide strategic client counsel that reflects deep knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical/medical device product communications


• Develop recommendations and programs that demonstrate a broad knowledge of media and advocacy arenas


• Manage account teams to ensure that client needs are met on time and on budget and to provide growth opportunities for staff


• Play an active role in the development of junior-level staff by contributing expertise to training programs, mentoring, etc.


• Monitor and manage client budgets and the financial performance of individual client relationships

Required Background/Skills:

• 9 + years of relevant experience


• Significant experience working on product-focused pharmaceutical or biotechnology

• Experience in medical devices a plus


• Understanding of science and ability to communicate scientific data for differing levels of

• Understanding of regulatory issues related to pharmaceutical communication


• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree
