JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY
This position will be a key member of the Healthcare & Life Sciences Value Chain research team and is responsible for contributing to the development of the team’s research agenda and delivering content to support the execution of that agenda. The research content will focus on issues relating to the healthcare & life sciences industry and will establish him/herself as a thought leader. Teamwork, strong analytical skills, and ability to influence are key traits required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive research on best practices in the healthcare value chain and associated technologies, specifically targeted towards Provider supply chains, GPO’s, Distributors, Payers and Retail Pharmacies.
- Responsible for developing and writing reports that demonstrate a mastery of best practices and strategies to guide user decision-making in the healthcare value chain (i.e. from manufacturers to patient bedside/point of consumption).
- Demonstrate best practice expertise through development of presentations, client peer forum participation, and client interaction in areas such as joint value creation/collaboration with suppliers, physician preference/value analysis programs, supply and pharmaceutical contracting, inventory management, transportation management, and performance consulting.
- Conduct ongoing interaction with clients and prospects in healthcare (including meetings, conference calls, and formal presentations). This includes related technology vendors and service providers.
- Prepare and deliver presentations at company and industry conferences, along with client briefings. Collaborate across research groups at the firm to ensure presentations and messages comprehensively represent cross-industry best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of industry specific experience – segments include hospital materials management including distribution, strategic sourcing, purchasing and contract management, and GPO interactions.
- Deep understanding of the healthcare value chain, and ability to link best practices, business strategies, goals & metrics to clients business and IT strategies.
- Experience with ERP, Purchasing, Supply Chain and Clinical Systems in the healthcare environment a plus.
- Ability to interact at all levels of an organization on business and technology issues.
- Ability to represent and defend analysis in client interactions.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills. Written work must be concise and persuasive.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Past experience working towards metrics or quota targets.
- Be willing to travel 5-7 days per month and attend 2 of the companys conferences per year
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree and at least 10+ years related experience; MBA preferred.
