JOB DESCRIPTION
RESERVOIR ENGINEER (Tulsa, Denver, Houston)
The individual in this role will be responsible for performing and coordinating the reservoir engineering and economic analyses necessary to maximize the value of existing assets, as well as actively participate in the identification, evaluation and execution of new investment opportunities.
Essential Functions:
- Leadership role in the identification, evaluation, planning and execution of resource play focused growth strategies. Perform reserve and economic evaluation of drilling, recompletion, workover, acquisition and other oil and gas investment opportunities.
- Coordinate and perform field studies to identify, evaluate recommend and execute optimized field exploitation plans for existing assets
- Monitor well performance, identify data collection needs and make project recommendations as necessary to maximize value/efficiency
- Prepare reserve/economic analysis for year end SEC reserve reporting on existing assets
- Prepare production, capital and operating expense forecasts for annual budgets
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must be “business minded” and prepared to manage the business aspects of an asset(s). Self-motivated, have a thirst for knowledge, and be receptive to new ideas and approaches. Experience in a leadership role working in a multi-discipline team environment, emphasizing technology and individual responsibility with demonstrated achievements in value creation. Experience in conducting play performance statistical analysis and identification of key performance correlations.
- Experience in oil and gas acquisition evaluations.
- Knowledgeable of SEC reserve reporting guidelines and their application.
- Experience in west Texas and/or south Texas operations, reservoir simulation.
- Must have excellent oral, written and formal presentation communication skills.
- Experience in conducting integrated field studies, the development of optimized field exploitation plans and the identification of growth opportunities.
- Experienced in well optimization and the identification of opportunities for production and reserve increases.
- Adept at interaction with a variety of contacts, internal and external, including management, industry partners and auditors.
- Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering.
- Ability to mentor and direct inexperienced engineers and technicians.
- Working conditions: Normal office environment/some travel to field operations may be required.
Must posses 10 – 15 years of recent industry Reservoir Engineering experience with expertise in tight/shale gas resource quantification, well performance analysis, reserve estimation and economic/risk analytics.
