The candidate designs and carries out experimental programs, usually with the assistance of one or more technicians, in order to prepare prototypes for customer evaluation. To do this effectively, the candidate draws upon available resources such as both open and internal literature, other in-house experts, technically skilled persons in other organizations and geographies within the company. Sometimes, external expertise (universities, consultants, etc.) will also contribute to development of the solution.
